As my final event as the Young Lawyers Representative, I have booked the South Bendigo Bowls Club at 5pm on Saturday, 3 December 2022 for a Christmas breakup.  This invitation is extended to all Bendigo Law Assocation members, their partners and children. We have booked the bowls club for some barefoot bowls for whoever wants to play.  There will be a small bar tab and pizza will be provided for dinner. It would be fantastic to see you all there with your families to celebrate the end of another busy year. The Bendigo Law Association Annual Dinner is returning for the first time since October 2019 on 28 October 2022. This year the Dinner will be held at Mackenzie Quarters from 6.30 p.m. – 11.00 p.m. Attendance is complimentary for all BLA members (paid and new). All paid members have a complimentary attendance for one partner.  Any non-members or new member partners must pay a fee of $150 if they wish to attend.  Canapes, dinner and drinks are included.  Dress code for the event is formal.  MacKenzie Quarters is located at 10-12 MacKenzie St, Bendigo  Please ensure you include any dietary requirements when confirming your attendance.  Please RSVP by no later than 4.00 p.m. on Friday 30 September 2022. 

The Bendigo Law Association is hosting an informal reception for Her Honour Judge Kellie Blair of the County Court of Victoria. Her Honour is currently presiding in the Bendigo Circuit of the County Court.  Prior to her appointment, Her Honour practiced as a barrister at the Victorian Bar practicing exclusively in criminal law. Her Honour also worked in Bendigo as a solicitor at Victoria Legal Aid and in private practice.  We invite you to join us at The Rifle Brigade Hotel. Shared food and drinks will be provided. 

On 22 June 2022 the Bendigo Law Association will be holding an event at the Bendigo Magistrates' Court. The session is targetted at junior members of the profession keen to build upon their Court advocacy after 2 years of online hearings, but we hope all practitioners of all experience levels are able to attend.  Speakers will include a sitting Magistrates Aumair, Kelly and Huynh and experienced and senior local solicitor Garry Quinn.  Attendence is open to both BLA members and non-members, police prosecutors and associated court users.  1 CPD point can be claimed by practitioners.  A networking event will follow at 'The Social' across the road from the Court complex.
